Illustrations
I paint my illustrations either digitally, using the Procreate application on my IPad, or traditionally, using gouache or Acrylic paint on watercolour paper.My drawing skills have developed from years of practise and a degree in Animation Production.
I think of many of my paintings and illustrations as a “still life with a twist” and I aim to create stylish, graphic compositions combining cats, food and flowers with unexpected humour thrown in.While my subject matter is often modern, old-school kitsch, vintage advertising and pin-up aesthetics all play a role in inspiring my artworks, the result of which is simultaneously playful and tasteful imagery that appeals to the inner child and adult alike.My work is also heavily inspired by a long time love of East Asian cuisine, pop culture nostalgia and of course, the adorable antics of cats.

All of my products are made using high quality materials such as 100% cotton and canvas and at least 250gsm papers. Anything I don't make at home, I like to source from local Canadian businesses where possible.

About Me
I'm a British-born, Vancouver-based illustrator and professional game artist with a love for pop culture, video games, snacks, and cats.After spending several years working full-time as a 3D Artist in the Video Games industry, I craved to launch a meaningful project of my own. One timely lay off later, Britt Bailey Art was born and I haven't looked back since!My appreciation of East Asian culture blossomed from a childhood spent playing Japanese video games, watching anime and exploring my local Asian restaurants. This love was truly solidified after a university exchange semester spent in Seoul, South Korea. It was during this time, that East Asian cuisine, in particular, captured my heart and became a long lasting inspiration within my artwork.My audience is primarily made up of aesthetically driven Millennials and Gen Z who love emotionally resonant, high quality artworks with a big splash of silliness. Anyone who is a fan of felines, nostalgic media, and international cuisine, should hopefully be drawn to my artworks' painterly charm and playful imagery.Exhibiting at art markets, comic conventions and pop culture events has been a genuine joy - especially after spending so many years attending them as a fan. Being part of the creative energy behind the events that once inspired me is something I'm truly grateful for. With each appearance, I aim to bring an even more engaging and polished presentation than the last.
